Firstly the most observant of you may have seen the change made to the fixture list. The match on August 5th, Saturday, scheduled for our Mersey stretch will now be at Sandmere, Allostock. It is a venue we have fished before and is one of the large expanses of water you see to your left when going south on the M6, usually with bivvies round it. It is mixed fishing with Roach, Rudd, Bream and the odd Tench and rather large Carp. Details nearer the date but we usually go in convoy from HQ.
Secondly, HQ, or The Cheshire Cheese Inn. Some of you may have heard on the grapevine that Denice Cooke has left the pub. Sadly this is true as of Monday 13th Feb, for whatever reasons the pubco had. The pub has been closed ever since. I have heard various rumours of a relief going in or people putting their names forwards to take the place on but nothing concrete yet. This means that we are technically homeless. "Don't panic Mr Mannering", I feel like shouting, why ? Well we have been in this situation before so we will just bide our time and see what happens. In the meantime we have our March meeting coming up on the 2nd.
Aitch has joined The Grange Social Club, Grange Avenue and arranged for us to use a room in there. So the meeting will be eight oclock as usual only problem we may have to pay a pound at the door as non members, or if your quick get Aitch to sign you in.
On a more happy note the weather seems to be pirking up as we get nearer our first outing of 2017. This is the River Weaver at Winsford Marina on Saturday 4th March, parking in usual place by the bridge and be there for 08:00.
