"Tight Lines"
We have called off the match planned for Sunday on the Mersey. With all the rain we have had the rivers is rising and more rain to come. Also the wet weather has thwarted our efforts to give the pegs a strim. The farmer normally uses the river field to grow fodder grass and I believe this is a couple of feet high. The path along the river is overgrown. If any hardy souls give it a go on opening day, or any day for that matter, can you drop me a line via this website on what you catch.

The new River Season starts on Sunday 16th June. However with the forecast rain for the next few days it might be a case of us not going to the Mersey but the Mersey coming to us.
A few of the lads are hoping to get down mid week to give the pegs a strim. We have a match planned for opening day starting at 08:00 but don't worry as we will peg around pleasure fishers if need be. The following Saturday, 22nd, we have our coach trip to Furnace Mill, Mucky Meadow Pool. Kick off is 06:30 from the Cheshire Cheese. Last year it was won with 116 lb of Carp. There is still room on the trip so anyone interested give "H" the Treasurer a ring and he will give you details. "Tight Lines" |
