A quiet but droll character Bob was a regular participant in the short time he was a member of the club.
A well liked character who will be sadly missed.
Our condolences go out to Family & Friends.
"I'll say this to that"
It is with sad regret I have to inform members of the death of Bob Baines. Bob was an active member until struck down with a neurological disease which eventually stopped him fishing.

After our first Mersey match in which only Peter Williams bothered the scalesman we were back on the river on the 17th July. Once again members caught during the lead up but come match day the fish would not cooperate. Nine members fished.
1st Dave Williams 14ozs 2nd "H" Jones 8ozs 3rd Phil Newton 6.5ozs Once again fish were topping during the match. With trepidation we were back a week later on the 24th. Well what a difference a week makes. 1st Ste Bate 5lb 15oz 2nd Dave Williams 5lb 3oz 3rd Peter Williams 4lb 12oz 4th Keith Atkinson 4lb 11oz For the first time this season the Bream made an appearance. The next Mersey match is on August 7th, my Birthday. Maybe the lads will let me win. "Tight Lines" |
