Yesterday, 12/05/2018, we fished on Lloyds Meadow "Badger" Pool. The club result was
1st Keith Kerwen 6 Lb 11 0z
2nd Pete McNamara 5 Lb 14 oz
3rd Paul Williams 4 Lb 10 oz
What was remarkable was that we had a guest angler, Daz Gould, and he weighed in 44 Lb 8 oz. He weighed in more than the rest of us put together ? I was on the next peg and was given a lesson on silver fish catching. In that weight he didn't have any carp. He was also a gent, declining the winners money saying he had enjoyed his day fishing with us.
The second report is for a match from 21st April. This was the first of our 2 coach trips booked for 2018. And once again we were shown the way by a guest angler. This time it was Keith Kerwen who you can see subsequently joined the club and indeed won the Lloyds Meadow match.
The trip itself was deemed a success by the attendees despite yours truly getting us lost in Bewdley. We eventually got to the venue and a Full English had been booked which was well worth the money.
So to the match.
1st Keith Kerwen 105 Lb 8 oz
2nd Mark Holden 71 Lb 10 oz
3rd Paul Williams 32 Lb 8 oz
4th Colin Rain 30 Lb 15 oz
Yes thats right ! A Cheshire Cheese match with over 100 Lb by the winner. Second place Mark Holden, another new member, weighed over 70 Lb which itself would have been a new club record. I must also mention that virtually all the people on the trip stayed for a drink in HQ afterwards. This is not always possible when we go by car so it was appreciated by the committee.
I am hoping that they are not that good on rivers so we will see once the river season opens on June 16th.
