"Reminder to all anglers – the annual coarse fishing close season is now in effect and lasts until June 15 inclusive. The close season prevents fishing for coarse fish in rivers and streams across England to help protect fish during spawning.
The Angling Trust’s Enforcement teams and voluntary bailiffs will be supporting the Environment Agency with Operation Clampdown, the annual close season crackdown on poaching and illegal fishing. Anglers caught breaking the law face prosecution and fines.
However, there are still plenty of opportunities for coarse fishing with most stillwaters and canals open to anglers, and fly-fishing for trout on rivers and streams still an option. You can find more information and byelaws for your local area here: Local fishing byelaws (rules) https://www.gov.uk/gove.../collections/local-fishing-byelaws

We will be carrying out the usual close season chores of peg repairs, strimming etc, and we have a nice new Noticeboard which will be going up.
I must thank three of our members who are also in Prince Albert. They were working on the Albert stretch and on the way back they stopped to make our 2 pegs in the woods fishable again.
We have a robust match calendar for this year and I will publish a full list in the near future.
